Philosophy and you.....

So, we are many weeks into philosophy classes. To this point, how has philosophy changed your perspective? What has it made you think about? Has it helped you to view anything differently? Describe briefly in 2-3 sentences how the topics we've discussed have had an affect on you (assuming it has).

i believe this class has helped me realize that different people need different beliefs. if everyone beleived in one thing it just wouldnt work because people have different thoughts and ideas. it has also helped me think about what i beleive in.

It has been a very confusing class but it has made me change my views a little. Everytime someone talks about god it makes me think back to this class and what all the philosophers have said about it. (thanks adam)Also i think more about dualism then i thought i would, it makes me think, are we really a mind and a body or just a body, or just a mind? It all just makes my brain hurt. :)

While my beliefs have not been changed, I defiantly have seen a new perspective on different issues and topic. This is especially true in the unit on the belief in God. While I can see why people would believe there was a higher power that gives meaning to our existence, I also understand how people could believe that we are just physical beings with no deeper meaning and purpose.

I like this philosophy class. It has tought me many things. I realized that there are many different beliefs and views on all of them. I learned that me could possibly have souls and I do believe that.

This class has changed my whole perspective on god! like Im not a religious person but it has made me think about his existance. Also it has made me think about the mind/soul, like do we have a soul or not. I would have to say this class is more intersting then i thought it would be.

Well philosophy is really confusing to me, but my perspectivess have changed. Like what i thought about god as, and right away i wonder why some people don't believe in him and now i do understand. I always wonder to myself, if i'm only a Mind/Soul or am I really a bag of intelligent organs? lol i'm dtill not sure but I do believe theres more to that then I really think there is. Philosophy has helped me think of things in a different way and it also helped be more thoughtful to my ideas and even my beliefs...The Tests Are Complicated..U make me think even harder then i usually do (sometimes it hurts)haha :)

I wouldnt say that this class has had any effect on my own personal set of beliefs and morals, but it has shown me alot of perspective. For instance, the concept of monism and that only our minds really exist and the physical world is just an illusion never really occured to me. (Except in the matrix) The same concept however, makes me think that the guy who thought of it is crazy.

Philosophy has made me think alot about everyday topics such who we are as a person and what makes us who we are. It also made me realize that no one thinks alike and has their own beliefs. Which ultimately could be a good thing because that makes the world interesting.

Philosophy hasn't changed my perspective so much as its made me think of why my persepective was that way in the first place. This class has helped me see the bigger picture and fit some of the peices together. I ask myself questions constantly now. Yet the more idea i have of the world the harder it is to know whats right.

this class has changed my perspective on what reality really might be. It made me think about if this is all "real" or not.
